Experience enhanced riding comfort and substantial weight reduction with Brompfication's Titanium Seatpost.

Our Extended Titanium Seatpost maintains a similar effective length to Brompton's standard seatpost, when compared to the Pentaclip in its highest position, and is 60 mm longer than the standard version.

Crafted with a focus on lightweight construction and durability, our Titanium Seatpost offers a blend of elegance and strength. The seatpost features the familiar seatpost clamp with two yokes that clamp the saddle rails in a cradle, presenting not just an elegant solution but also a substantial reduction in weight compared to Brompton's Pentaclip. Compatible with both round and oval saddle rails, the seatpost clamp offers versatility in use.

Utilising titanium ensures not just durability but also capitalises on its natural shock-absorbing properties, enriching your riding experience mile after mile.

Remarkable weight efficiency sets our Titanium Seatpost apart—it boasts an impressive 155-gram reduction compared to Brompton's standard steel seatpost and Pentaclip, surpassing Brompton's discontinued titanium seatpost by 75 grams.

For optimal usage, we recommend a rider weight limit of 100 kg and a maximum rail clamp torque of 5 Nm.

Weight: 345 ± 10 grams all included.   Length: 580 mm

Installation Guide for Titanium Seatpost

Components Included:

  • 1 Titanium Seatpost
  • 1 Titanium Cradle
  • 2 Titanium Yokes
  • 2 M5 Titanium Bolts

Installation Steps:

Removing the Saddle and Original Seatpost:

  • Start by removing the saddle from your Brompton bicycle to access the seatpost.
  • Open the Seat Clamp Quick Release (QR).
  • Slide the original seatpost out from the frame's underside.

Cleaning the Seat Tube:

  • Clean the seatpost tube and sleeve thoroughly to remove any dirt and surface rust. This preparation ensures a smooth installation for the new seatpost.

Installing the Seatpost Bung (Optional):

  • If desired, insert the Brompton seatpost bung into the bottom of the titanium seatpost at this stage.

Inserting the Titanium Seatpost:

  • Insert the titanium seatpost into the seat tube from the underside of the frame.
  • Rotate the seatpost to align the cradle cutout perpendicular to the frame, then secure it by closing the seat clamp QR.

Connecting Rod Installation:

  • Insert the connecting rod through the holes at the top of the seatpost. Ensure it's close to horizontal. If the alignment is off, open the seat clamp QR, rotate the seatpost 180 degrees, and retighten the QR.

Assembling the Cradle and Yokes:

  • Apply grease to the bolts. Then, insert the bolts into the connecting rod holes and screw on the yokes loosely, allowing the assembly to hang.
  • Place the cradle into its cutout and set the saddle rails into the grooves on the cradle. Assistance from another person to hold the saddle steady during this step is helpful.
  • With the yokes on the bolts, position each yoke over the saddle rails, ensuring proper placement.

Securing the Assembly:

  • Hold the yokes in place and tighten the bolts gradually. Adjust the saddle angle by loosening one bolt while tightening the opposite bolt.
  • Finalize the installation by tightening the bolts to 4 Nm. After your first ride, re-tighten to a maximum of 5 Nm to ensure everything remains secure.

Final Check:

  • Double-check all components for secure fitting and proper alignment to ensure a comfortable and safe riding experience with your new titanium seatpost setup.

Note: Adhere to the recommended torque settings to prevent damage. If you encounter difficulties during installation, it's advisable to consult with a professional mechanic for assistance.

Each of our untreated titanium seatposts and handlebars undergoes a brushing process. A notable advantage of this treatment is the ability to refresh the surface finish using 3M's 7447 Scotch-Brite Hand Finishing Pads.

To achieve this, first, disassemble the seatpost. Hold the Scotch-Brite pad in one hand and place the seatpost on top, enveloping it with the Scotch-Brite pad. Rotate the seatpost within the Scotch-Brite pad using your other hand. Avoid using the Scotch-Brite pad in the lengthwise direction.
